What a night.

Great meeting, crew! Saw some fresh new faces eager to learn. A reminder that our meetings our open to absolutely everyone. Fortunately it was a slow night at work so I got to hang out for a bit. After a quick Google search, knitted & crocheted fanny packs are not too common. And the patterns are dull. Let's see what we can do about that. I have a pair of garbage jeans I'm going to cut up and experiment with for our next project.... who has the biggest hook? We need to have some sort of web album for all of our photos. I have some great ones that were sent to us, but I don't want to overload our blog with photos from the same event. Looks like Flickr is Blogger compatible, or I can just create a slide show. At least I don't have to work tomorrow!

Check out this cool spot on The Resurgence of Knitting that was on NPR last week. Street Color, a yarnbomber from the bay area, makes an appearance.

Then set your eyes on this find from the Wooster Collective. INTI from Chili. Great stitch work!

If you haven't already, scroll up to the right and click "Follow." Why? Because there will be cookies at the next meeting!

apparently this was the weekend to bomb.

Magda Sayeg And Guerilla Suit's Willie Nelson Yarn Bomb @Craftzine.com blog

The folks at Knitta Please created this bomb to celebrate the Willie Nelson show in Austin this weekend. Who's coming to Hartford that we can do this for? Or maybe the Odd Ball it is!

where my stitches at?

Oh, right here! And at the Rose Garden at Elizabeth Park. Click the images to make 'em bigger! We gathered at 10am, but luckily it was pretty warm. No one will deny that walking the snow-filled path was an adventure; it came up to my knees! But again, I'm only 5 feet tall. Today was the most fulfilling day I have had in a long time. I love you guys.

Hopefully we can get a professional photographer for our next mission. Hint: it will be very blue. I'll upload my polaroids as soon as I scan them in.

**UPDATE**

We've been blogged! Some more love from our friends at the good ol' Hartford IMC
And this hilarious article from the Greater Hartford Real Estate Blog.

And of course, more pictures!

Happy V-Day!

Oh, the not-cold! Certainly made bombing so much easier. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed bombing today!

So yarn kind of rocks.

This here is Boston's own purveyor of broken toy uke & roll burlesqueitude, Jojo Lazar, rocking her own wicked green hand-knit strap for what I can only assume is a delicious, delicious tenor ukulele. Photo by David W. Aquilina.

Should that be there?

Make: Online » Giant Knitted Squid

So I'm trying out the Blogger-Droid for the first time. Let's see how this goes.

Found this in my FB feed today. I am wishing I could make one!

grrrrrrr.

I am being thwarted at every turn! So I got a new phone. One of those nifty Android phones. So far I love it. Then I found out I can blog straight onto here from the phone! Squeeeeee! I go to post a blog from something I found on Facebook. Which generally I can keep up with on the Fancy Phone, but for some reason I can't find the post on the phone version, only on the computer. Sigh... Then I think that I may have posted a blog on this group already, and I should mention that. I can't find the post. Sigh...

So. Hopefully I've got this thing figured out. It's a yarnbombing group out of Japan, called Que d'Accord. The name is a pun on "ke do ko" which means "woolen octopus". So cute! I really should leave the article for you all to read, it's so interesting. And the work is so cool! I wish I could go there and see it in person!

And on a side note; can't wait for the Valentine's Day doings! Crocheting away...

we got game

This past Tuesday we met at Real Art Ways for their monthly game night which usually falls on the first Tuesday of every month. Why was this one on the second Tuesday, you ask? All this friggen snow! One of our members has been keeping busing shoveling snow off of roofs. Too bad my landlord didn't hire him to clean off our garage. Oops! Good thing that snow was there or my car would have been smashed.

Lots of flowers! We're getting ready....

 Pink Flamingos and pink flowers!

 Big plans for the 14th....
 That cat is totally barfing.
 Is that rope?

Turns out I don't work Sunday or Monday morning. So when do you want to do this?

Holding Strong in New Haven

Check out the following blog:
New Haven Knitters cast a yarny vote

I pass by the spot en route to purchase new glasses and even after all the storms, the same yarn bombs are there and holding up. We should all be so resilient. Enjoy the before shots in my blog and after shots here!

Woe is me!

I'm not feeling too hot so I'm going to keep this short and sweet - like me!

We meet Tuesday, 7pm @ Real Art Ways

A dear old friend of mine showed me this yarn bomb from Oslo, Norway. If this is yours, please claim it!
Local artist Barbara Hocker sent me a link to this guy's work the other day. I can't find much information besides his A/S/L. Thomas C. Chung, born in Australia but resides in Norway, he completed a BFA at the University of New South Wales in the College Of Fine Arts, Paddington, Australia.
